| Abstract: | In order to minimize the impacts of neoliberal urbanism, predominant in world metropolis, and about the problems faced by informal occupations (subnormal agglomerates), this project long for propose guidelines for the development of a systemic structuring in an ecological character of urban spaces, with socio-technical approach in areas of informal occupations, aiming to make them permanent and balanced at economic, social, environmental and cultural levels. The guidelines aim to stabilize the urban ecosystem in addition to increasing its ecosystem functions and consequently the local use of available ecosystem services. The dissertation is linked to a project to implement a balanced urban ecosystem in the informal occupation of Santa Luzia, together with the Periférico research and extension group, through the research and extension project called Santa Luzia Resiste. Santa Luzia is a community of approximately 16,500 residents, who have been threatened with removal for over 6 years. The dissertation methodology presents initially the methods used in the works that served as a database, expressing the kind of approach needed to discuss this theme, then moving on to defining the dimensions of an Urban Ecosystem, aligning with the concept of Nature-based Solutions - SbN through the abstraction of ecosophical principles into systemic principles, such as biomimetics, holistically dimensioning an urban ecosystem. Successively was presented the method for compiling data from the urban ecological inventory of informal occupation Santa Luzia, which grouped data on the human population (total population, general characteristics, education, work and income, social vulnerability, HDI, relationship with the neighborhood and ecological footprint ), fauna (general taxonomy of insects, mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles, characterizing these in relation to their interaction with urban spaces) and flora (Biome, phytophysiognomy, taxonomic survey of native and exotic flora, tree cover and proposal of a recovery of an area degraded by phytoremediation, through the planting of 10,700 specific tree seedlings), of the natural physical environment (relief, hydrographic basins, geology, soil classification, water bodies, aquifers, classes of underground water bodies, water demand, precipitation, air quality, conditions, soil surface temperature and climate) and the physical built environment (local images, general characteristics, land use and occupation, road structure, blocks, buildings, water source and effluent collection networks and the behavior of the Distrito Federal real estate market) relating the data through the preparation of thematic maps that would help holistic understanding of the ecosystem. In addition to these surveys, local issues and their contexts were analyzed using the spatial patterns developed in the research and extension project Santa Luzia Resiste; The results supported the guidelines for the urban ecosystem balance of the Santa Luzia occupation and for informal occupations as a whole, considering the dimensions of an urban ecosystem as being (Physical Dimension, Resource Dimension, Organizational Dimension, Cultural Dimension, Administrative Dimension, Dimension of Suitability and Dimension of Union). The dissertation concludes defending the maintenance of the Santa Luzia community in the place with its inclusion in the environmental regeneration process. |
