Abstract: The dairy cattle farming generates a wastewater (WLF) from the cleaning of milking facilities and equipment, whose composition prevent its disposal into receiving bodies. The WLF reuse is a disposal alternative that provides nutrients to the soil for plant development and reduces the water catchment for irrigation. However, it requires an assessment of soil and plant properties because of the applied nutrient load and contamination by pathogenic microorganisms. The objective with this work was to evaluate the reuse with WLF on the chemical attributes of a dystrophic Oxisol, biomass production, bromatological composition and quantification of total coliforms and E. coli in Tifton 85 under pasture and pot cultivation. Chapter I presents the experience with reuse of WFL following stabilization ponds on a spray field, during one regrowth cycle of Tifton 85 (from 05/29/20 to 09/12/20), in Gameleira de Goiás/GO. The study involved the irrigation with WLF and/or Stream water (SW), combined with mineral nitrogen fertilization (0 and 45 kg N ha-1 ), in a randomized bloc design. The morphological and bromatological parameters of the forage were determined at 106 days postregrowth. The soil chemical properties were evaluated on soil profile, from 0,0 to 0,60 m depth. Chapter II presents the experience with reuse of WLF following preliminary treatment, applied by spraying in Tifton 85 grown in open-air pots, in Planaltina/DF. The study involved the irrigation with WLF and/or Well water (WW), in a split-block experimental design. The pots were irrigated by spray in three days intervals over 30 days, then the sprinkler irrigation was interrupted so that the persistence of microorganisms in the shoot biomass could be determined. In 0, 2, 4, 6, 10 and 12 days after irrigation (DAI) (from 27/08/21 to 08/09/21) the shoot was sampled to estimate the population of TC and E. coli, and the first order model was fitted to microbial population data. In 12º DAI was determined plant productivity. The WLF reuse affects directly and positively the forage productivity (from 2.50 to 5.12 t ha-1 ) and bromatological quality (CP from 12.35% to 14.58%) compared to SW. The WLF reuse maintains the SOM, however, it provides potassium and sodium in larger quantities than Tifton 85 can absorb during regrowth in winter, resulting in their accumulation to 0.60 m depth. The shoot contamination and decay rates of E. coli were similar between the reuse simulations. The first order decay model showed that one Log10 reduction of E. coli is reached, on average, from 2.55 DAI. The reuse of WLF in winter should be practiced on condition that the potassium and sodium leaching in soil is monitored. Regarding the risk of microbial contamination of animals, grazing must be avoided for at least 3 days after irrigation with WLF.
