| Abstract: | Introduction: Dengue, chikungunya and zika are public health challenges worldwide, especially in Brazil, so vector control and popular participation are essential to combat these diseases. Methodology: A comprehensive bibliographic search was conducted without language and time restrictions, aiming to identify randomized and non-randomized trials on the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the population and health professionals in the prevention of dengue, chikungunya and zika. Results: 115 eligible studies were identified, most studies were published between 2013 and 2018 (67%/n=77), reporting studies carried out in America (52.2%/n=60) and Asia (43.5%/n=50). The results were separated into three categories: 1) General knowledge and risk perceptions about diseases; 2) Attitudes and Practices referred to; and 3) Sources of Information. In general, it appears that in relation to zika and chikungunya, both health professionals and the general population have not yet assimilated information about the main symptoms and characteristics of these arboviruses. In relation to dengue, there are strong associations between educational level, gender and age and knowledge of the disease. As for attitudes and practices, it is observed that there is a correlation between the referred practices and the general knowledge about arboviruses and the vector. Final considerations: According to the data presented, it is shown that a good part of the studied population has heard about, dengue, zika and chikungunya, its symptoms, its vector, and the forms of disease control / prevention, as well as prevention practices. to the development of the vector are assimilated, however, in part of the studies, such practices were not satisfactory or were performed by a small proportion of those studied |
