Abstract:	This work presents a study about structures of prestressed concrete with internal, external and mixed cables with numeric modelling through the program CARPE. To illustrate the performance of program CARPE, some examples with their respective characteristics and analysis of results are presented. The modelling made by the program CARPE uses nonlinear physical and geometric analysis , that allows to determine the global displacements of the beam, its variation of stiffness due to cracking in concrete, the deformations of concrete sections and reinforcement, the behavior of the prestressed cables as well as the immediate losses of prestress. A parametric analysis was developed, concerning variations of input parameters and tolerances in the control of convergence of some internal variables of CARPE. With the goal to optimize handling of program and to improve its interface with external users, an interface of program with DELPHI’S platforms was developed, moving from the DOS environment to Windows. From now on the input data may be given by an user through the Windows environment. The results indicate an excellent performance of the numerical model and its applicability in the research and modelling of prestressed beams.
