| Abstract: | Prestressed concrete structures are in constant technological evolution, since Freyssinet had patented his bonded internai prestressing process, in 1928. The 60’s and 70’s brought the success of externai prestressing, obtained in the recovery and reinforcement of big structures. The association of both techniques of tendons positioning, externai and internai, produces the mixed prestressing. The objective ofthis research is to give continuity to the study on the behavior of concrete structures with mixed prestressing, starting ffom MARTINS1 work (1989), who developed the CARPE program for the study of simple beams with mixed prestressing and from DESIR (1993), who modified this Computer program for extemally prestressed continuous beams. The actual stage ofthis project is the implementation of bonded internai tendons formulation into the CARPE, introducing the use of curved tendons and taking account of the losses of prestress. This analysis comprises the study of the behavior of concrete beams, with internai or mixed prestressing, up to failure, considering non-linear stressstrain relations for the materiais. The structural model takes into account the global displacements ofthe beam, the stiffness variation due to concrete cracking, the deformations in the concrete sections, prestressing tendons and ordinary Steel reinforcement, the eventual sliding of the externai tendons on the saddles and their eccentricity variation, as well as the immediate losses of prestress in the internai tendons. The obtained results are compared with those of other programs, developed in other countries, that use different non-linear calculation methods. The results are also compared with experimental ones of two beams tested at CEBTP (France) and one tested at COPPE/UFRJ. It was verified that the model gives a good prediction of the beams behavior, under instantaneous loading, applied monotonically up to failure. |
