| Abstract: | Sixteen unbonded tendons post-tensioncd flat slabs with concrete strength ranging from 37.8 to 44.1 MPa and submitted to concentric punching shear were tested. Four or six parabolic profile tendons spacing 100, 150 or 250 mm were used. and among the sixteen slabs four were supported on lOOmm x lOOmm columns, seven on 200mm x 200mm columns or five on 300mm x 300mm columns. Two different approaches of the Decompression Method (DD1 and DD2) were used for estimating the punching shear resistance of the slabs and both led to good rcsults. Decompression method DD1 equations were calibrated with finite elements while Decompression method DD2 equations were obtained straight from the Strength of Materials. The results of DD1. DD2 and FIP 1998 (1999) methods were compared with test results from 40 slabs. 16 from this work and 24 from other sources. Test results from the 40 slabs were also compared with estimations from the codes ACI 318 (2002), EC2 (2002), FIP 1998 (1999) and NBR 6118 (2003). The three components (concrete, in plane and vertical) were taken separately and suggestions for modification the codes were proposed based on this analysis. Recommendations for considcring complete flat slab paneis, in which the internai columns are usually far from the anchorages, were also proposed. |
