Abstract:	Introduction: The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main vector of dengue, chikungunya and Zika, and Brazil has been affected by epidemics of the three diseases in recent years. Vector control methods are still the most suitable for controlling these arboviruses. The strategy of dissemination stations (ED) of pyriproxyfen (PPF) presents promising for mosquito Ae. aegypti in several places. The objective of this work was to analyze the effect of dissemination stations of PPF on the positivity of ovitraps and density of Ae. aegypti in the region of São Sebastião, Federal District. Methods: Analytical experimental study in the community test model in two districts of São Sebastião. Between January 2017 and June 2018, 60 ovitraps were installed in 30 households (intra and peri) between control and intervention areas. 150 EDs were installed in the intervention area from the 4th to 16th month of study. The eggs collected in the field were placed in a laboratory environment to monitor egg hatching and adult emergence levels. Spatial distribution and statistical tests such as student t and chi-square were performed. Results: 46,095 eggs were collected in 18 months of study (45.2% in the intervention area), 22,889 hatched larvae (45.5% in the intervention area) and 14,481 emerged winged (44.8% in the intervention area). Spatial analysis showed higher egg density in areas close to forests. Statistical tests did not show significant effect on the number of eggs, but they indicated effectiveness on the ovitrapa positivity. Conclusion: The results did not show the effect of PPF dissemination stations on egg density. However, when analyzing the 18 months of study, the intervention was effective in reducing positive ovitraps. Areas with forest showed higher egg density throughout the study and the indicators derived from ovitrap monitoring were inadequate to verify the effect of the intervention studied.
