Abstract:	The objective of this study was to correlate testosterone and cortisol levels with reproductive, clinical and metabolic parameters, aiming to obtain more knowledge about the fertility of Nelore and Tabapuã bulls, and also to verify if the method of semen collection by electroejaculation with equipment manual or automatic would imply stress to these animals. In the first phase, 82 bulls were studied, 42 Nellore and 40 Tabapuã bulls, and in the second phase 42 bulls, 22 Nellores and 20 Tabapuã, aged 36, 48 and 60 months, under extensive conditions, to evaluate biometrics testicular, spermogram and serum levels of testosterone, correlating with CAP and cortisol, heart rate (HR), respiratory (RF), rectal temperature (TR) and glucose, before and after EEJ ( electroejaculation), to verify the stress level of the animals. For thoracic circumference, a significant difference (p <0.05) was found between measurements in the age groups within the breeds. For scrotal perimeter and width of the Nelore race testicles showed initial development, however the measurements at 60 months for the Tabapuã breed were superior. For testicular volume, there was difference only at 60 months in the Nelore breed, and in all age groups in Tabapuã, which was higher than the Nelore averages. For turbulence, vigor and concentration, the Nelore breed was also superior to the Tabapuã breed, and no significant difference was found between the age groups in the two breeds. For spermatic morphology only minor defects were higher in the Tabapuã breed. The mean CAP of the Nelore breed was 64.3 and Tabapuã was 58.75 points. No difference was observed in testosterone averages by age or race, but the correlation between age and testosterone was high in both breeds. There was no difference in testosterone means between the evaluated schedules. The Nelore breed had a moderate CAP x testosterone correlation, whereas in the Tabapuã breed, a strong correlation was observed between the variables, r = 0.89. No differences were observed between HR, RR, TR and glucose, before and after the JS, but a significant difference (p <0.05) was observed for the automatic method, with an increase in serum cortisol concentration of 12.27 ± 15 , 15 mmol / ml, and for the manual method presented a mean of 30.35 ± 23.05 mmol / ml, demonstrating to be more stressor than the first one.
