| Abstract: | Due to the increasing of buildings’ height, structures have gradually become lighter and slender, making the influence of horizontal actions a matter of concern about the project’s safety and confort, specially those originated by the wind meaningful on the global behavior of the structure. Usually, designers analise the forces caused by the wind on the buildings in a static way, although this action also represents a dynamic behavior, making the structure submitted to this action also respond in a dynamic way. The target of this project was to evaluate the applicability of theoretical methods of estimate responses in terms of requiring efforts and displacement on the top of high buildings in the along-wind, considering the dinamic aspect of it. The patterns studied was CAARC Standard Tall Building and Basic Building. The comparative analysis were performed among the results of the gust factor method, of A. G. Davenport with experimental results extracted from tests of wind tunnel performed by Oliveira (2009), Vieira (2016) and IAWE (2012), besides theorics evaluations through proceedings adopted by the rules NBR 6123 (1988) and by Eurocode 1-4 (2005). The theoretical method of Davenport presented numbers with great correlation to the experimental results, validating its use in parallelepiped buildings. As the turbulence intensity and scale were the parameters that had respectively, the biggest and the lowest influence on the fluctuating responses, its possible to verify that the NBR 6123 (1988), in some way, underestimate the responses comparing to the Davenport’s method results, considering the influence of these parameters of the floating wind. On the other hand, the Eurocode 1-4 (2005) had results more similar to Davenport method when considered the turbulence intensity determined by the european standard. |
