Abstract:	Across the memories of the construction of Brasília, federal capital and modern heritage, the process of urban space development has commonly been portrayed by dualities: the planned and disorder, the modern and the archaic, erudite and popular or order and disorder. These contrasts, when juxtaposed with everyday experience, reveal that these dichotomies permeate a fundamental conception; the need for shelter and the right to land, especially for the dispossessed, poor, people of color, indigenous people and quilombolas. This article proposes to retell this story, based on the juxtaposition of documents, clippings from periodicals of the time, images and narratives.
