Abstract: This article is mainly focused on the progress of mathematical models for arched beams of Bresse type within the viscoelastic theory given by Boltzmann-Volterra. We provide a comprehensive analysis of the modeling for curved beam systems by taking into account viscous-mechanical constitutive laws for the main tensors acting on the governing equations, namely, the shear force, the axial load, and the bending moment. As a result, new classes of viscoelastic BresseBoltzmann-Volterra problems are presented in different scenarios, shedding light on the interplay between memory effects, the resulting (visco-)elastic stress-strain relations, and the sensibility of viscoelastic couplings given by the symmetry of the memory terms intrinsically coming from the modeling.
