Abstract: This dissertation aimed to evaluate the effects of different printing and postprocessing conditions on the mechanical, optical, and surface properties of five commercially available 3D-printed restorative resins: Biocrown (BC), C&B MFH (CB), Crowntec (CR), Varseo Smile Crown Plus (VSCP), and Voxel Print Ceramic (VPC). Specimens were printed using an LCD printer, following the manufacturers' instructions for use (IFU), at 90°, and subjected to specific experimental conditions in each chapter. In Chapter 2, the effect of aging on mechanical properties (flexural strength - σ, elastic modulus - E, and microhardness - VHN) and optical properties (color stability) was evaluated. Tests were performed after 24 hours and after 30 days of aging (ENV). Aging increased VHN values for all resins except CR and increased σ values for VPC. VPC showed the lowest ∆E00 values, demonstrating excellent color stability, while VSCP and CB exhibited clinically perceptible variations. Chapter 3 analyzed the effects of resin sedimentation in the printing tank for five days (DEC) on VHN, σ, and E. DEC increased VHN values for CB and VPC and decreased them for CR, while it significantly increased σ values for VPC and E values for VPC and VSCP. The other resins showed reductions in σ and E values. In Chapter 4, the impact of prolonged post-curing for 90 minutes (PLC), both without and with aging (PLC ENV), was investigated. The same mechanical properties were assessed, along with color stability. PLC significantly improved mechanical properties but caused some color variation in all resins, especially in CB. Aging (PLC ENV) reduced VHN in CB, VSCP, and CR, reduced E in BC, and increased E in VSCP. Chapter 5 addressed wear resistance under simulated toothbrushing. Previously polished samples (#2400) were subjected to 50,000 brushing cycles and evaluated for surface roughness (Ra) and height loss (Hloss) via confocal microscopy. VSCP showed higher Hloss values compared to VPC and CR, while BC and CB exhibited lower Ra variations. Printing and post-processing conditions significantly influenced the mechanical, optical, and surface properties of the printed restorative resins. Prolonged post-curing proved to be an effective strategy for improving mechanical properties, while resin sedimentation may compromise performance, as it alters outcomes compared to printing under IFU. There was a significant product-dependent behavior across the tests performed.
