Abstract:	Agricultural practices worldwide are undergoing significant changes due to technological advancements. These transformations have led to increased productivity, while highlighting the importance of environmental preservation, sustainable water, and land management. In this context, biofertilizers are considered essential technologies to reduce the extensive use of chemical fertilizers, providing significant results in addressing social, environmental, and economic issues. Biofertilizers are characterized as organic fertilizers that contain organisms and nutrients (both macro and micro) capable of improving plant health, granting them greater resistance to pests and diseases. This study aimed to examine the motivations that guide farmers in the Federal District in adopting the bioinput Arbolina in their agricultural activities. A multipaper format was chosen, addressing the current state of research on the topic internationally, followed by a case study. A bibliometric analysis of 628 articles obtained from Scopus (Elsevier) was conducted using the software VOSviewer and CiteSpace. Additionally, a systematic literature review was carried out in the Web of Science and Scopus databases, following the Methodi Ordinatio protocol, resulting in a portfolio of 30 analyzed articles. Finally, a case study involving 20 farmers and an agricultural technician from SENAR was conducted, employing content analysis of the interviews with the support of the IRAMUTEQ software, based on Decision-Making Theory. The literature reviews highlighted that food security is an increasing global concern. The motivations of family farmers to adopt biofertilizers in their production are linked to various factors, such as consumer pressure, knowledge of the negative impacts of chemical fertilizers, and the influence of other farmers who also use biofertilizers. In the context of the Federal District, the results revealed that farmers' motivations are influenced by aspects such as the main crop of the property, age, education, experience, familiarity with the technology, social circle, economic needs, and professional support. The characteristics of the producers, properties, and the external and social environment play an important role in the motivations.
