| Abstract: | Football interactions became strongly meaningful largely due the pandemic times within virtual environment, issued from measures taken to minimize the contact in public as way of containing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus. In this context, this current research aims at clarifying social interactions-dynamics processing conveyed through the WhatsApp device, keeping in view cultural representations emerged from football memes appeared within ‘Ilusolândia Filinhos’ group. To achieve this points, members sociodemographic characteristics were properly arranged to work over football memes with respect meanings production, distribution and reception, apart from elucidating their types, characteristics, classifications and motivations for choosing them. As such, it is questionable for us how are the social interactions-dynamics processing with such device in view of the cultural representations came forth from football memes in the mentioned group? This is field-based research, supplied in qualitative terms in the manner of Minayo (1994) along with netnography branch purported by Kozinets (2014), which evaluates the behaviour of individuals on the internet. Data collection occurred between April and July 2021. Participating observer and semi-structured interviews, as proposed by Kozinets (2014), were synchronously performed, by taking data saturation as cutoff point, according to Duarte (2002) and Minayo (1994). The logbook was used to record data, which were examined by means of analytical coding, hermeneutic interpretation, and visual design grammar procedures. Then, in compliance with the research descriptive level, 694 memes were evaluated, further resulting in seven categories, namely: Football- clubs, Football-politics, Football-Covid-19, Football-reality show, Football-death, Football-violence, Footballhomosexuality. Results show that besides being a new-fashioned and expansive form of communicating, memes are rich in multiply action-meanings referred to football within virtual environment, which are issued from linguistic livings attached to several statements instances (some illustrate acts and views in a loosely sense confusing, others not) conveyed by participants interactions belonged to Ilusolândia Filinhos. In the researched group, strong and proximal ties appeared, and members happened to be confidants, given their main consumption activity, football. The construction and perception attached to football phenomenon was closely linked to a sort of social investment from each member mediated it by agenda setting. The production-dissemination and reception of football memes in the group ended up emphasizing, in addition to the humorous aspect they give rise to, patterns related to “homosociality”, “gender playfulness”, “political satire” and “violence in the field”. Given the representativeness, albeit partial, towards a national culture, football dialogues through football memes, and the resulting representation is for Physical Education a way of providing a set of meanings, through media education, corroborating Fantin´s (2006) view as for elements that make up the social-cultural structure, which contribute to build critical subjects that minimize sexism, homophobia, misogyny, prejudice and violence in this sport, whether on networks or in face-to-face interaction environments. |
