Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the positions of children diagnosed with ASD who get equine assisted therapy. The qualitative research was based on the perspective of HistoricalCultural Psychology. The study was carried out with 05 (five) participants, children diagnosed with ASD, aged between 05 and 06 years, practitioners of equine therapy, enrolled in Public or Private Education Networks in the Federal District. The lack of studies on this theme motivated the interest in investigating the context of children with ASD and their positions on equine therapy, through a dialogic construction where children could be heard and, at the same time, become protagonists of this research. As procedures for constructing the information, the following instruments were used: observation of a 30-minute equine therapy session with each participant, with registration in a field diary and a semi-structured interview based on a script. The methodological route was organized from the transcripts of the interviews, seeking to identify, in the participants' positions, the meanings they built with the practice of equine therapy. From these positions, the general themes were selected, which were interrelated between the lines of the speech of all participants. The General Themes were organized into 03 categories that showed an understanding of the meaning of equine therapy for children with ASD. The results indicate that children diagnosed with ASD who practice equine therapy took a stand on this therapeutic intervention.
