Abstract: Exciton dynamics play an important role in the efficiency of organic light- emitting diodes (OLED). In these devices, the recombination of electrons and holes produces a singlet exciton for every three triplet excitons, according to the spin statistic. Thus, the efficiency of OLED devices is restricted to 25\% from the emissive singlet excitons. Seeking alternatives for the low efficiency of OLEDs, hyperfluorescent devices combine exciton triplet to singlet conversion phenomena with high fluorescence efficiency. In these devices, molecules that present thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) are used, in which the reverse intersystem crossing (rISC) mechanism enables the aforementioned conversion. However, studies point to a second mechanism for converting triplet excitons into singlets by an intermolecular transfer of TADF to TADF, in which this mechanism has not been thoroughly investigated. In this work, we investigate the photophysical processes in hyperfluorescent devices by different triplet harvesting mechanisms. Based on the density functional theory and its time-dependent extension, we calculated the electronic structure of four pairs of TADF and emitter molecules, followed by simulation of the absorption and emission spectra, via the nuclear ensemble method. Rates of photophysical processes were estimated, such as energy transfer between molecules and fluorescence properties. The exciton dynamics were simulated using a Monte Carlo Kinetic algorithm that enabled the evaluation of the efficiency of the different processes in the system. Our results indicate that the second triplet conversion mechanism may play a relevant role in hyperfluorescent devices and that neglecting it may lead to an overestimation of rISC rates.
