| Abstract: | Seven post-tensioned flat slabs, 2000 x 1200 x 120 mm, with square (200 x 200 mm) columns at the border, using curved unbonded tendons, were tested submitted to punching shear. It’s a local model simulating the connection between the column and the flat slab. The main variable of the study was the ratio between the applied loads, perpendicular (Pi) and parallel to the border of the slab (P2), leading to ratios M/V from 0,15 (slab LI) to 0,70 (slab L7), between the bending moment perpendicular to the edge of the slab (M), taken at the column edge, and the total shear force at the connection (V). Results of ultimate loads and failure types, cracking, deflections, concrete and non prestressed reinforcement strains, and variation of the cables forces are presented and analyzed. The test results were also compared with the estimations from ACI-318:2002, NBR 6118:2003, FIP: 1998 and EC2:2002. Ruptures by punching, bending / punching, bending / punching / torsion, and bending / torsion were obtained. FIP: 1998 presented the least conservative estimates, followed by the NBR 6118:2003, that would present less conservatives estimates if the concrete compression component due to the prestress (Vcp) was incorporated to the slab resistance. EC2:2002 presented the most conservative estimates among the four codes studied, as it considers a limit for the component that takes into account the concrete resistance and the ratio of non prestressed reinforcement (Vc), opposite to is done by FIP: 1998 and NBR 6118:2003. |
