Abstract:	The present study describes the development of a construction and validation of a self-concept psycometric instrument. where the masculinity and femininity concepts constitute the basis of the self-concept. This psycometric inventory was called "Masculinity and Femininity Inventory ofthe Seif - (MFIS)”. Three studies were realized. where the first study describe the construction and validation of the MFIS: the second study describe the structure differences of the masculinity and femininity concepts. in the self-concepts. between men and women and the third study describe a new version ofthe MFIS.Previous studies gave support of these results. The masculine and feminine scales separatly as well as the total instrument showed a second order factorial structure. However. all the analysis demonstrated that behind the first levei factors there were two dimensions called: I ndividualistc . Ispects ofthe Seif and Collectivistic Aspects ofthe Seif. The results corroborated the structure ofthe gender concepts at the self-concepts levei. The replication process demonstrated similar structures in both psycometrics studies. that contributed for the validation ofthe instrument. The reliabilitv index showed around 70 and 80. According to variable sex. the masculinity and femininity concepts were differently structured in the self.
