Abstract: To stop the transmission of COVID-19, strategies such as quarantine and social distancing were used, leading to the closure of establishments, schools and businesses and affecting society at different levels. For children, the impacts of these measures were felt, among other areas, in the family context and in school life. It is projected that the closure of schools, period of social isolation and the pandemic context will cause harm to children, since emotional, physical and cognitive impacts may have been generated during this period. The present study aimed to analyze the neuropsychological functions of children from a public school in the Distrito Federal (Brazil), enrolled in the 1st and 2nd year of Class Elementary School at the time of reopening of public schools in the COVID-19 pandemic and the influence of family and contextual factors on the performance of these skills. 118 students from the 1st and 2nd year of Regular Class Elementary School participated voluntarily, as well as their parents or guardians. To evaluate the children, the Brief Child Neuropsychological Assessment Instrument (NEUPSILIN INF) was applied in person, after the easing of social isolation. Furthermore, the parents/guardians answered the Inventory of Resources of the Family Environment (RAF) and questions for socioeconomic classification and maternal schooling, remotely. The results suggest a high prevalence of children in the literacy phase who present alert or deficits in orientation, memory, language, visuospatial skills, arithmetic skills and verbal fluency. Furthermore, activities that reflect the degree of stability are predictors of children's performance in orientation skills and resources that promote proximal processes significantly reflect on language performance. The results show that children included in families with estimates of household income below one minimum wage present worse performance in inhibitory control. In this work, we evidenced the possible impacts of changes in neuropsychological skills for the learning of these children, and how contextual factors influenced the performance of some of these functions.
