Abstract:	The present work aims to trace the understanding of the body within the psychoanalytic theory, taking into account the crossing through language and the consequent drive movement. For this purpose, the psychoanalytic research method combined with the essay text was used, so that the researcher and the object are not distanced in the investigative process. We trace a path through the constitution of the subject as the construction of a significant interval in which the instinctual body comes. In this process, children's play is of paramount importance. Its instinctual character and showing the real in the clinic was highlighted. We approach the child who plays to the scenic artist who creates and we talk about the importance of art as essential for the human being, insofar as it approaches the constitutive function of play. Concepts such as lalangue, jouissance and writing were worked on, as theorized by Lacan. A brief history of the Klauss Vianna technique, a pioneer in the development of contemporary dance in Brazil, was presented, as well as its foundations and consequences in the body and in the artistic and political sphere. We sought to identify intersections between psychoanalytic theory and the field of dance, more specifically, the Klauss Vianna technique. With this objective, psychoanalysis and dance were approached from the notions of the speaking body and the dancing body. It was concluded that both practices contain in themselves the investigative interest on the live body, with its unconscious ebullitions. Thus, the importance of presence and playful improvisation for both fields is highlighted. Thus, dance and psychoanalysis consist of practices that trace means of giving vent and destination to the instinctual movement, each for its own purposes and with different instruments.
