Abstract:	This research aimed to analyze the process of development of executive functions (EF) of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) from the perspective of object pragmatics, which extends child development beyond the appropriation of language and understands the object as a semiotic mediator in triadic interaction, whose private uses and gestures allow observing the construction of the child's pre-verbal thinking. Neurotypical children are inserted into goaloriented social dynamics from birth. The verbalization presented at the end of the first year of life evidences the emergence of problem-oriented thinking. The way of thinking of children diagnosed with ASD emerges in the midst of unique semiotic systems, considering the changes in communication, orality and interaction with people and objects related to the diagnosis. To better understand this process, a microgenetic analysis of the triadic interaction between two children diagnosed with ASD and their respective mothers was performed. Three moments of each child's development were videotaped, with intervals of two months between them. In the initial videotaped session, the first participant was 2 years and 3 months old, and the second, 1 year and 10 months. This is an empirical, qualitative longitudinal study. The video recordings were analyzed and categorized with the support of the ELAN 5.8 software, and some excerpts were transformed into graphics with the support of the R program. Held in the families' homes during the covid-19 pandemic, the video recordings and audio captures were made by the residents themselves. The categories of analysis and the theoretical framework were based on previous studies, but with the addition of complementary subcategories. Gestures and uses of objects (two per session) were analyzed from the planning of the action to the evaluation of the objective achieved by the children and caregivers involved in the triadic relationship, considering verbal and non-verbal elements as semiotic mediators related to the task. The results indicated that children diagnosed with ASD present protocanonical, canonical and rhythmic-sound uses from 14 months onwards and that adult mediation is directly related to the emergence of constructs referring to EF in the course of action performed by the child. The caregivers acted intentionally and communicated the purpose of the task in different ways, contributing to the engagement of the diagnosed child. The overt exploratory and private gestures presented by the children and caregivers were important predictors for the canonical use of objects. Actions aimed at action planning, as well as gestures and uses of objects, have a self-regulating and co-regulating role in the analyzed triadic interactions.
