Abstract:	Introduction: Cochlear implants (CIs) have been indicated as a treatment option for adult and pediatric patients with severe to profound hearing loss and have been offered by the Unified Health System (SUS) since 1993. Objective: To analyze the profile and care segment of those beneficiaries by CI surgery, assisted by SUS, based on the production recorded by the services in the last 10 years. Method: This is an analytical study, with an analysis period from 2009 to 2018. Secondary data collected from five SUS Information Systems were analyzed, and all federation units were included with enabled services. The analysis and presentation of the results were divided into three stages: Stage I - Characterization of the Care Network and analysis of federal investments in this care; Step II - Analysis of the distribution and characterization of the sample, and Step III - Analysis of care follow-up after CI surgery. Results: In all regions of Brazil, there are accredited services to provide rehabilitation with CI by SUS, totaling 33 services. There are 615 otolaryngologists, 858 speech therapists and 643 audiology equipment. A number of 7,238 beneficiaries who underwent at least one CI surgery were identified. The main cause for CI was unspecified hearing loss - H91.9 (80.9%). The most performed surgeries were unilateral surgeries (95.9%), and 76.6% of simultaneous bilateral surgeries were performed were in children under 4 years of age. Hospitalization was 2.53 days for surgery, with the highest rate in CI revision surgeries (3.18). Regarding care follow-up, 1,648 beneficiaries (22.8%) did not perform any follow-up in these 10 years, and the 77.2% (5,580) of the beneficiaries performed the follow-ups. Regarding the maintenance of the cochlear implant speech processor, 387 users enjoyed this right in 4 Brazilian states. The sentences of 39.03% (2,825) of the implanted patients performed the therapies in the SUS service network. Conclusion: This study was possible to know the organization of the care network in the SUS, the investments passed on, the profile of users and the care follow-up performed by the beneficiaries of CI surgery in the last 10 years.
