Abstract:	The aim of the present study was to translate, adapt and validate the Geriatric Psychomotor Examination (GPE) for the Brazilian context. The EGP is an instrument for measuring the major motor and cognitive functions needed to maintain autonomy and independence as people grow older in aging. Article 1 describes the adaptation and translation processes of the EGP. The results indicate an almost perfect equivalence with the original version and strong interjudge agreement. In Article 2, the validity and reliability of the factorial structure of the Brazilian version of the Geriatric Psychomotor Examination (EGP-Br) was examined, indicating three factors with satisfactory psychometric properties. Article 3 examine the celling and floor effect for the 17 items of the EGP-Br and total score. All 17 EGP-Br items had a ceiling effect, but no floor effect was observed. The post-textual document has a fundamental role in this study, as it confirms previous research, but integrates the theoretical framework used to understand the functionality of the elderly in the multidisciplinary perspective of interactions among cognitive and motor skills, highlighting the importance of an instrument that can evaluate both cognitive and motor skills.
