Abstract: Introduction: Physical Education has been undergoing major transformations in recent years and growing increasingly in its different possibilities and interventions in contemporary society. And in this sense, it culminates in the training of professionals through distance education. From this perspective, the University of Brasilia offers this course incorporating the proposals advocated by the Ministry of Education, by federal decree 9057/2017 and its prerogatives. Objective: To analyze student perceptions about the learning process and work done by the distance tutor, in the Physical Education course, in the distance modality of the University of Brasilia. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study, in which the variables were measured only once, without structural distinction between the predictors and the outcomes. It was a quantitative and qualitative research (Creswell, 2013), composed of students of both sexes, from the distance education Physical Education course at the University of Brasilia. The students were linked to the centers of the cities of Piritiba (PB), Boa Vista (RR), Duas Estradas (PB) and Buritis (MG). The data collection protocols were instrumentalized by an adapted questionnaire elaborated in the GoogleDocs form, with closed questions, based on the research carried out by De Paula e Silva (2004), Zerbini (2007) and Peixoto (2012). At the same time, a semi-structured interview was used, according to Lüdke and André (1986: p33-34). There was consideration and authorization by the Research Ethics Committee with Human Beings of the College of Health Sciences of the University of Brasilia, under Opinion No. 1.8671.269 of 12/13/2016, CAAE: 62060516.5.0000.0030. For statistical treatment, data from the questionnaires was tabulated using Microsoft Excel and analysis using the Stata ® statistical package, version 15, using Fisher's test, considering 5% significance for the correlations (p≤0, 05). For the treatment of the interview, the content analysis proposed by Bardin (2004) was performed. Results: There is a higher percentage of female students, aged over 30 years, perform paid activity, 1st degree, married and have an income of less than three minimum wages. The results were satisfactory in almost all perceptions. In the characterization of the sample, the results that showed significance were marital status (p = 0.018). The perceptions that were significant in the relationship between satisfied and dissatisfied were: a) They change the way they explain until participants understand the subjects of the messages (p = 0.020); b) They seek to understand the reasons that are hindering participation in the discipline (p = 0.001); c) Demonstrate good humor in the messages sent (p = 0.006); d) Respect the learning pace of the participants (p = 0.046); e) Praise the participants in the forums and electronic messages (p = 0.026); f) Participate from the beginning to the end of the forum discussions (p = 0.026); and g) Provide answers that completely answer the questions (p = 0.026). Final Considerations: It was possible to perceive, in the answers, the ambivalence that guided the perceptions of the interviewed students when comparing the quantitative and qualitative data. Satisfaction overcame dissatisfaction in virtually all 33 categorical variables on student perception.
