Abstract:	The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) applied as a method of discrimination of mineralized systems hosted in the Mineral Province of Carajás and Araguaia Mobile Belt (southeast border of the Amazon Craton). In order to do so, we used regional geological, geochemical, as well as aerogeophysics datasets. The statistical analysis resulted in nineteen variables: nine geochemical (Cr, Co, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sn, Zn), nine geophysics (K anomalous, eU anomalous, eTh, ASA, Dz, Dx, Dy, TILT, Euler), and one variable that is a product of the quantitative interpretation of geophysical data (Density of Structures). This set of variables aimed at discriminating the possible geological processes, generating six mineralizing systems, namely: hydrothermal-magmatic, marine sedimentary, metamorphic, endomagmatic, supergenic, and undefined (e.g., Serra Pelada deposit). The multivariate statistical analysis returned nineteen significant principal components (PC), of which eight were selected and accounted for ca. 75% of the total variance of the database in a range of variance from 3.378 (PC1) to 1.013 (PC8). The principal components PC1, PC3, and PC5 were selected for had better identify patterns and trends in the data, because the greater gradient of variance. The PC1 is the principal component with greater variance (ca. 3.38) it differentiates the geological processes related to lateritic mineralization (e.g., Nickel Lateritic), Lake Superior-type BIF, and orogenic gold deposits from all other mineralizing systems that occur in the Mineral Province of Carajás. The PC3 with 2.3 of variance forms three clusters, and differentiates between the main mineral deposit models of the hydrothermal-magmatic system with strong structural controls (e.g., IOCG deposits), and the Nickel Lateritic deposits from Carajás Mineral Province from Araguaia Mobile Belt. The 1.15 variance PC5 separates mineralizing systems with different structural orientations (EW, NW-SE and NE-SW) related to horizontal magnetic derivatives (Dx, Dy) and ASA from Carajás Mineral Province from N-S oriented structures related to vertical magnetic derivative (Dz) and Depth variables. Finally, Au-(PGE) Serra Pelada deposit has a higher linear and spatial correlation with the oxidized intrusion-related, IOCG and Hydrothermal Ni metallogenetic models.
