Abstract:	This dissertation examines how far field classes can contribute to the learning process in Biology for high school students. It discusses the importance of leaving the classroom environment, so that what is being studied has meaning and importance for the learner, thus generating the contextualization of the content worked. In this context, a field trip script is presented, which includes the use of scientific drawing and photography as a means of recording and an analysing the environment. It also presents the advantages of using these methodologies, in the assimilation and identification of structures and landscapes studied in Biology, more specifically , in Botany. As a product of this whole process, a practical lesson guide was developed for teachers in the public school system of the Federal District and also for other professionals who are interested in this theme. This guide discusses the advantages of working in field classes in High School, it suggests where they can be held, it presents some useful contacts, the preparation needed for the activity to succeed, as well as suggestions of what can be explored at each site.
