| Abstract: | This work presents experimental results of tests of five local models of slab-column connection made in the Laboratory of Structures of the University of Brasília. The flat slabs of the models were post-tensioned with unbonded tendons and they had 2000 x 1200 mm and 120 mm of thickness and they were located at mid-height of the columns of the models, which had 1320 mm of total height. The parameters varied in the experimental program were the eccentricity of de applied load, through the relationship bending moment/shear force (M/V), the rate of passive bonded reinforcement in the two directions and the level of post-tension in the flat slabs of the models. The intention with this variation was to investigate the influence of these parameters in the punching shear resistance. The results indicated that the variation of the eccentricity of de applied load exercises great influence with the load capacity presented by the flat slabs dropping from 179.7 kN in the flat slab of the model L8 (M/V = 0.360), to 134.6 kN for the flat slab of the model L10 (M/V = 0.525). The level of the post-tension was also quite influential on the values of the failure loads and also in the deformations and vertical displacements. The load which cause failure of the flat slabs of the models is compared with the estimates of NBR 6118:2003 and of two other codes, ACI 318M:2002 and EUROCODE 2:2001. The most conservative code for the tested flat slabs was the EUROCODE 2:2001 and the code that more approached the experimental values was ACI 318M-02, with the smallest relationship Vu/Vd equal to 1.82. This code presents much better results when the restrictions imposed for the concrete and compression stress in the plan of the flat slab are not considered. The NBR 6118:2003 code, although having formulation similar to the EUROCODE 2:2001 was shown to be less conservative due to the reduction of the applied moment by subtracting the moment due to the eccentricity of the reduced critical perimeter in relation to the center of the column. |
