Abstract: The major goal of this thesis was to develop an index of importance value of species taking into account phytosociological and socioeconomic aspects and to point out tree species considered highly prioritary to the restoration of the Permanent Preservation Area (APP) of Acre River. The basin of Acre River region, in the state of Acre, is of great socioeconomic and environmental importance but has suffered massive deforestation during the last two decades. Urban nuclei as well as access routes of historical territory occupation left behind a forest liability to be dealt with. The study demonstrated that 48% of the riparian forest belonging to the Permanent Preservation Area (APP) of the Acre River was cut down during the last twenty years, the APP being the territorial cutting that has lost most forest in relative terms in the period, when compared with the 2,000 meter-buffer, extending from each bank of the river, with the Acre River basin and with the state of Acre. The main deforestation indexes were that of private areas or of unclaimed land and contributed with 67% of the total deforested area until 2017.The riparian forest on the banks of Acre River, when we consider the buffer, presents a difference in diversity when given the areas of Open Forest with Bamboo, the Dense Forest and the Open Forest with Palms. The different altimetric regions presented a gradient that influenced the size of tree population and the floristic composition. The swath of land closest to the river, where the APP is located, presented a smaller tree population than those swaths farther from the river. Declivity classes also presented distinct gradientes between steeper and flatter terrain, as flatter plots showed greater diversity and larger population per area. We concluded that, in a total of 211 species surveyed for the area, 186 species presented at least one kind of use and among them 80 species, with a total of 1,899 tree individuals, were considered of high priority when applyed factorial analysis and considered phytosociological and socioeconomic variables. The ecological group and the way seed dispersal occur were identified for these 80 species of high priority with balance between the species that appear at the beginning of the ecological succession process (pioneers and initial secondary) and those of final stages (late secondary and clímax), an important result when considering forest restoration. The zoocoric dispersion prevailed among the 80 species what is important for the repopulation of the area. At last, when considering the uses for the high priority species most of them presented diversified uses, the comercial category being that with most species, what is very posite for involving communities with forest restauration.
