Abstract: Banana farming is an activity that grows in Brazil, especially in family agriculture, highlighting the economic and social relevance of this culture. However, such productivity can be increased when issues involving fruit quality and field sanity are observed. These issues are related to nutritional conditions, soil moisture, irrigation, types of cultivar, and the importance of disease control and crop pests. When analyzing the pests that affect the crop, the banana tree (Cosmopolites sordidus) stands out among the others for causing damage to the rhizome and pseudocaule of the plant, influencing the quality of the fruits, or even rendering the production unviable. There are several control methods used to reduce problems with this pest. However, there are still doubts as to the best type of attractive bait to be used, or even the best method of control (cultural, behavioral, chemical or biological). Taking into account these issues for the improvement of banana quality, production and productivity, the present work had as general objective to evaluate the agronomic performance of banana cultivars, as well as to evaluate which would be the best attractive bait to be used in the control of the banana tree and what would be the best control method to be applied considering the cultural, chemical and biological controls. For this, an experimental field of banana was developed at the Água Limpa Farm of the University of Brasília, with a randomized block design with three and four replications. Chapters two and three were developed in a triple factorial scheme. The characteristics of bunch weight (kg), number of fruits per bunch, number of bunch, length (cm) and diameter (cm) of the fruit were evaluated for the agronomic evaluation; incidence of C. sordidus (IcCS) and total C. sordidus (Cstotal) for the evaluation of the best attractive bait; and finally, C. sordidus (IcCS) incidence rates, C. Sordidus (Porcisca) and C. sordidus (Cstotal) infestation rates, as well as the number of insects collected before and after application of treatments, for the evaluation of the best control method. Verifying the agronomic performance, the characteristics of bunch weight, length and diameter of the fruit in the cultivar Grand Naine showed higher averages in the Skott Knott test at 5% probability. For the characteristics number of banana per bunch and number of bunch per bunch the cultivar BRS Conquista showed higher averages. By analyzing three different attractive baits, the natural baits proved to be effective. In the two evaluation periods, the cultivar Grand Naine presented greater resistance to the young of the banana, regardless of the type of bait used. Finally, when testing the different methods of control, among the cultural, chemical and biological, the cultivar Grand Naine showed a decrease of 116.15% of young of the banana tree, adding the amount of insects collected in the biological control treatment in concentrations 25g and 37.5g B.bassiana. For the cultivar Prata Anã, considering the amount of insects before and after the application of the treatments, the most efficient treatment was the chemical (Carbofuran). For the two cultivars, no statistical differences were found between the control treatment and the others (chemical and biological).
