Abstract: The concept of urban metabolism calls for sustainable cities to implement energy efficiency measures in their daily flows. Sustainable urban mobility emerges as an important element of this metabolism, as it directly affects important dimensions of development: the environment, society and the economy. To this end, investments in public transport and in transportation that use clean energy must be increased. The objective of this research was to analyze urban mobility strategies of the Federal District in terms of energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions, using life cycle assessment (LCA), in the scenarios of 2010 and 2020. Developed the model of urban mobility of the DF based on the scenarios proposed by the Urban Transport Master Plan prepared by the Federal District Government. Thus, we analyzed the energy and environmental efficiency levels of the system in terms of Global Warming Potentials (GWP) and Primary Energy Demand (PED), comparing different types of modes, as well as between collective and individual transport. The results indicate that there is an increase in the level of emissions and demand for primary energy in all scenarios, and it is necessary to verify the level of efficiency in terms of passengers and distance traveled. In absolute terms, while in the 2010 Nothing to Do scenario, emissions of 0.82 million kg of CO2 equivalent are emitted and 501,465 passengers are transported, in the scenario "Nothing to do 2020", emissions increase to 1.37 million kg of CO2 equivalent when transporting 689,119 passengers. In relative terms, the scenario of greater energy and environmental efficiency is scenario 2-2020, because when analyzing the number of passengers transported, in the Nothing to Do 2010 scenario, the DF long-distance bus emits 0.55 kg CO2-equiv. Per passenger and consumes 7.19 MJ per passenger, in scenario 2-2020 that same bus emits 0.25 kg of CO2-equiv. Per passenger and consumes 3.53 MJ per passenger. The car in the 2010 Nada a Fazer scenario emits 3.06 kg of CO2- equiv. Per passenger and consumes 33.01 MJ, in scenario 2, it emits 3.27 kg of CO2- equiv. Per passenger and consumes 54.72 MJ. The conclusion is that if the improvements proposed in collective transport were actually implemented, there could be efficiency gains in terms of passengers transported, however the high representativity of individual transport entails quite severe environmental and energy damages, compromising the entire urban mobility system.
