Lentas mudanças: o voto e a política tradicional

Abstract

Tomando como referência os estudos que relacionam geografía política, desenvolvimento e poder político, analisam-se as principais áreas de influência das forças partidárias no Brasil, com ênfase no grau de desenvolvimento das regiões e localidades de onde os partidos políticos retiram a sua maior força eleitoral. O estudo lança luz tanto sobre a emergência de novas forças políticas quanto, sobretudo, sobre a persistência das formas tradicionais de exercício da política.

Taking as reference the studies which put together political geography, development, and political power, the main areas of influence of the political parties in Brazil are examined, with emphasis on the degree of development of the regions and localities from where the political parties obtain their chief electoral force. The study throws light both on the emergency of new political forces and on the persistence of traditional forms of doing politics.
