Abstract:	This work is part of the context of musical distance. As a general goal, this research investigated how the tutors perform on-line mediation in the a discipline, the degree course in music from the University of Brasilia. Specific objectives examined how the distance tutors use the educational tools available in the Learning Management Systems to perform the on-line mediation; identified as the distance tutors encourage collaborative work among students and identify how the distance tutors encourage interaction in the Learning Management Systems. The conceptual framework is based on the definitions and conceptions of Online Education and Music Education Online Learning, Online Tutoring, Online Pedagogical Mediation and Interaction Online. This research was developed supported in qualitative research approach with quantitative support. The data collection instruments used were intensive observation, through non-participant observation and semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire. For the analysis, understanding and interpretation of the material collected in observations and semi-structured interview was used the content analysis technique (Bardin, 1977). As achieved results, it is found that the on-line mediation is focused on the use of prior knowledge of students and the exchange of experiences as a dynamic element of learning. However, this mediation lacks multimedia elements such as video, audio and images. It is expected that the results of this research can contribute to the field of music education, the description of, and reflection on how the distance tutors perform a musical didactic and pedagogical mediation in an on-line environment.
