Abstract:	The architect is the founder and coordinator of all development activities of the architectural design. During the preliminary study stage, the structure must be designed in the architectural party since the architecture and the structure are born together and are therefore inextricably linked. The structural launch in the initial creation fase has been jettisoned by current designers that get used, increasingly, working in sequence way and then executing the architecture of project structure. This approach disqualifies executive projects with negative results of compatibility, mistakes in implementation, higher consumption of raw materials and consequently a significant increase in the final cost of the building. First, this study reinforces the complementary character of the teaching and practice of professions highlighting the problem of neglect of the structural release in order to foster discussion on the subject and go beyond the direct preliminary design, the L about 10, as very known by the architects. Secondly, in two case studies of beam and through the empirical criteria, the arrow, the strength and expressiveness, were set different support arrangements so that they could evaluate the height of the section of the resulting beams and architectural implications building. After the results, it have been prepared some guidelines to help the architect in choosing the best structural release arrangement to be adopted in architectural preliminary study phase.
