A roupa, a moda e a mulher na Europa Ociental Medieval : reflexo da opressão sofrida pela mulher na Idade Média (século: XI-XV)

Abstract

O presente trabalho aborda o fenômeno da moda e do vestuário como instrumentos de manipulação e opressão do corpo feminino e, através deles, a imagem da mulher na Europa Ocidental medieval. Também, procura percorrer as metamorfoses do vestuário no período histórico da Idade Média do século XI ao XV, tendo como foco o discurso clerical que subjugava a mulher num contexto inquisitório de repressão, mostrando como esse discurso masculino influenciou o nascimento da moda e a concepção da vestimenta. Partiu-se de uma análise que envolve desde a concepção da forma até o corte da vestimenta, onde se esconde a chave para se alcançar o efeito sobre o corpo; levantou-se questões importantes que envolvem o universo da mulher e a abertura de um novo conceito em nascimento: a moda. Assim, procurar-se-á traçar um paralelo entre a ascensão da moda e a mudança do vestuário feminino na Baixa Idade Média, consolidando-se o advento de uma sociedade reestruturada pela sedução, pela distinção de gênero, pelo efêmero e pela própria lógica da moda. _____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

The focus of this study is to analyze the costume and the fashion phenomenon as tools of oppression and manipulation of the female body, and through them, the women’s image in the Occidental Medieval Europe. It will also show the costume’s evolution between the twelve and fifteen centuries, having its focus on the clerical speech that subjugated women in the inquisitor context of repression and how this masculine speech influenced the fashion and the conception of costumes. The study analyses the conception of cloth’s shape and cut, where we find the key of its effect over the female body raising important questions that evolve the women’s universe and beginning a new concept: the fashion. Tracing a parallel between the beginning of fashion and the changes in the female clothing during the Low Middle Age, consolidating the advent of society recreated by seduction, distinction of style, for the ephemeral and logical fashion itself.
