Abstract

O olho mais azul, de Toni Morrison, narrativiza os processos de formação de três meninas negras nos anos 50 nos Estados Unidos. O romance, tão mal recebido pela crítica quanto o foi uma de suas protagonistas, está encontrando seu merecido lugar no sistema literário. Igual sorte não teve Peccola, a personagem. Assim, ao final, Peccola é abandonada e fica louca. Mas Cláudia, a narradora, aprende com a infeliz trajetória da amiga, em uma estratégia de em poderamento. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison, narrativizes the process of formation of tree black girls in the fifties, in the United States. The novel, as ill received, according to the writer, as one of the protagonists was, is finding a better place in the literary system. Peccola, the girl, was not so lucky. Black girls were the frailest part in black communities and brooked ali the pains the collective had to bear. This is why, at the end, Peccola is abandoned and goes crazy. But Claudia, the narrator, learns from her friend's ill fate, in a strategy of empowerment.
