Um cotidiano partilhado entre práticas e representações de benzedeiros e raizeiros : remanescentes de quilombo de Santana da Caatinga - MG/1999-2007

Abstract

A comunidade remanescente quilombola de SANTANA DA CAATINGA é cenarizada no período balizado nos anos 1999-2007. Tem-se como objeto o cotidiano dos atores sociais que a animam e, como objetivo, observar práticas e representações que ali afloram. À luz de referenciais buscados na História Cultural e tendo como suporte empírico fontes plurais que incluem entrevistas com narradores do lugar e documentação obtida em arquivos, o objeto foi construído de modo a sondar sentidos sobre memória, questões identitárias, embates cotidianos e o representacional que atravessa tais vetores. Um olhar mais detido direciona-se para as práticas dos benzedores e raizeiros. O argumento norteador, aliás, assentou-se na convicção de que a lida entre fontes e referenciais desvelaria um cotidiano pleno de permanências, reelaborações, táticas e embates, sobretudo no caso das práticas dos benzedores e raizeiros. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT

The remaining quilombo (in colonial Brasil, a community organized by fugitive slaves) - community of SANTANA da CAATINGA hás its scene in the period baptized in the years 1999-2007. It aims the social actors’ routine that entertains it and it also aims to the observation of practices and representations that happen there. Based on references searched in the Cultural History and having plural empiric sources supports including interviews with locals and documents taken from files, the object was built to findo ut evidences of memory, identity, daily issues, and the representacional that cross such vectors. A closer view directs to the practices of the healers and herb doctors. The guiding argument, in fact, based on the conviction that the mix between the references and the sources would show a daily full of permanences, reelaborations, tactics and questionings, specially in case of the sorcerers and the herb doctors’practices.
