Abstract:	This research proposes the development of a Bilingual Alphabetical Lexicon (Portuguese/Libras) of Automotive Terms, a material designed to address the lack of accessibility in content related to driver's licensing and automotive mechanics. Initially, the right of Deaf individuals to drive was investigated by analyzing the process of obtaining a National Driver’s License (CNH), linguistic accessibility, and the challenges in understanding automotive terms. The study also highlighted the importance of translating and interpreting technical content, as well as the need for accessible materials and visual resources on automotive mechanics and traffic safety. In the field of Translation Studies, the complexity of translation between Libras and Portuguese was explored, addressing key issues such as the role of translators and interpreters in mediating meanings and adapting theoretical and practical content. The objective of this research was to promote the linguistic and educational inclusion of Deaf individuals in the automotive field through the creation of the Bilingual Alphabetical Lexicon (Portuguese/Libras). The adopted methodology involved selecting and validating sign-terms through terminological records, videos, and field research. The selected audiovisual sources were essential for constructing the lexicon, covering topics such as traffic legislation, automotive mechanics, and road signs. To develop the material, 29 technical terms from the field were selected, followed by the creation of terminological records and the stages of verification and registration of the signs used to represent them. The study aimed to ensure precise correspondence between Libras signs and Portuguese concepts, guaranteeing greater accuracy in technical communication. The field research included the participation of Deaf individuals and approximately 30 hearing participants, enabling discussions on the adopted signs and their suitability to the automotive context. The results demonstrated a high level of acceptance among participants, indicating that the evaluated signs were considered precise and appropriate, consolidating the reliability of the developed material. It is expected that the Bilingual Alphabetical Lexicon (Portuguese/Libras) of Automotive Terms will contribute to the production of other terminological works in different technical fields, expanding accessibility and strengthening the inclusion of Deaf individuals in various areas of knowledge.
