Abstract: The Sustainable Development Center of the University of Brasília is one of the modernist characteristic buildings that make up the constructed asset of the Darcy Ribeiro campus. The architectural project contains several recommendations for the execution of the flat roof waterproofing system, as well as details for the runoff and drainage of rainwater, which reveals a certain concern with the building's watertightness. The research seeks to relate the pathologies identified on the roof with the building's semicircular shape, assessing the state of conservation, by using the damage maps as analysis tools. The article is based on field surveys from drone aero photogrammetry, application of vector drawing software for graphic representation, and a discussion of the possible causes, agents, and mechanisms of degradation at work. The results denote the relevance of the mechanical protection layer for the good performance of the waterproofing system. Moreover, it is observed the need for correct sizing of the expansion joints of the mechanical protection mortar, in order to absorb and relieve the tensions arising from structural movements due to hygrothermal variations, reducing cracking that compromises its integrity. The damage maps presented here, as auxiliary tools in the diagnosis of pathologies, enable the planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance actions in an effective, quick, accurate, and cost-reduced manner. In interventions for the conservation of buildings, monitoring through damage maps is a strategy that prolongs the service life and preserves the intrinsic characteristics of the construction systems.
