Abstract:	This is the second part of an essay that targetsthe specificity and multifaceted character of thecontemporary philosophical investigationabout the biological sciences. The import ofconcepts and methods from the biological sci-ences to tackle affresh some philosophicalproblems is also addressed. We sum up thevarious subjects that have been addressed inboth parts of the essay, and we come up withnew metaphilosophical reflexions about thekinds of tasks philosophers undertake in thedomain of contemporary philosophy of biol-ogy. We ponder also about a protagonism phi-losophy might have, alongside the sciences, inthe investigation about the world of living be-ings.
