Abstract:	This theoretical article, limited to music education and (auto)biographical research, deals with the concept of musicobiography that I have been building with the researches carried out in the field of music education in Brazil. Throughout the reflections, I tried to argue, precisely, about the necessity of assuming musicobiography as a self-medial appropriating event to provide the field of music education with a way to contribute to the formation of subjects that relate to music. With practical examples coming from researches, I seek to understand self-mediality as a refiguration of the appropriating event that, in the explicit performative utterances, in the act of making narratives of oneself mediated by music, is where the action resides. As this is an essay of theoretical nature, the discussion here is not configured as a systematized thought, but, once located in the (auto)biographical movement undertaken within the field of music education for about two decades, the proposal was to discuss and deepen my intention to contribute with the notion of musicobiography to the epistemological and methodological dimensions that point potentialities and challenges for (auto)biographical research in music education.
