Abstract: Introduction: The dissertation seeks to illustrate the theoretical contribution that bioethics has to offer to face the environmental crisis from the perspective of health professionals. A brief parallel is presented between the history of bioethics and the main international documents related to the environment. From this, a progressive expansion of the conceptual scope of bioethics is evidenced, with the incorporation of principles related to the environmental theme contained in the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights of Unesco (DUBDH). In addition, the research includes some epistemological precepts proposed by Intervention Bioethics (BI) that show a relationship with the subject studied. Objective: To analyze principles and references used in the context of bioethics in order to contribute with new theoretical-methodological tools to raise awareness of health professionals about their role and responsibility in caring for the environment and protecting future generations in the field of environmental education. Method: This is a theoretical research, with document analysis and interpretive and critical reading of reference works ranging from environmental ethics to environmental bioethics, which had as catalyst elements - in addition to the collection of ideas by authors such as Jonas, Potter, Resnik, Singer and Ten Have - DUBDH and BI. Results: Promoting health and sustainable development with social justice proves to be the right option for the future preservation of planetary life. Viewing this relationship critically becomes an ethical, political and social commitment to the planet, ensuring a safer future for generations to come. In this sense, the study discusses the opportunity to provide environmental education to health professionals, making them vectors of behavioral changes in society in relation to planetary preservation. Final considerations: In times of crisis, it is necessary to build new bridges. Bioethics provides the interconnection of previously distant knowledge such as environmental education and planetary health, strategically influencing the approach to new contemporary conflicts and overcoming traditional mechanisms regarding the way of thinking, discussing and solving problems in global contexts
