Abstract:	Extractive Reserves (RESEX) are Conservation Units of Sustainable Use that aim to protect the territory of high socio-environmental relevance and biodiversity. Located in the extreme south of Bahia, RESEX Marinha do Corumbau communities have been suffering from the absence of the terrestrial territory included in the Reserve Management Plan, which ultimately contributes to the advancement of the gentrification process in the region. This action research aims to demonstrate the overlap of existing plans in the region and the social and environmental conflicts generated by the disordered use and occupation of RESEX territory, having as a case study the village of Caraiva and its immediate surroundings. In the search for participatory planning alternatives through a semi-structured questionnaire, 14 native residents were interviewed. As a result, the most striking references in the community were obtained - as well as places and customs, the search for solutions that fit the natives' lifestyle and the changes that have emerged over the last decades.
