Abstract:	The present study investigated the delays in meeting the recommendations of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) at the University of Brasília (UnB), using agency theory and its concepts of transaction costs and conflicts of interest. Training gaps were identified in the process of internal control and use of the system, in information gathering and in access to management. Through the theoretical framework used, it was shown that a more expressive performance by the University's internal control body, Internal Audit, by intensifying the monitoring of agents, it was able to increase the efficiency of the process of responding to recommendations.
