Abstract:	The themes proposed by the International Council onArchives (ICA) for the celebration of International Archives Day emphasized auspicious lines of research for the year 2020, the year of COVID-19. This pandemic has highlighted the vital need for access and disclosure of information by governments in orderto make safe decisions and directing the population on issues related to health preservation, guaranteeing their social, economic and cultural well-being. All this knowledge contained in the documents shows the social importance of the archive, as an institution of memory, and the archivist, as the manager of this documentary heritage.
