Abstract:	By articulating the concept of nonspecificity as a proposition of a mode of representation in contemporary aesthetic practice, this dissertation intends to make a cut that recovers the notion of nonspecificity as a procedure and as an investigative method and reaffirms the relationship between aesthetics and politics. The texts that form the corpus of this research are entitled Strange Fruits: Nonspecificity in Contemporary Aesthetics (2014), by Argentine theorist Florencia Garramuño, and The Art of Itself: 25 Fragments on the Paradox of Representation and a Question on the Theme of Aura (2009), by Paraguayan art critic Ticio Escobar. Both authors, besides discussing the theme of representation, share the same symbolic framework, Latin America. This concerns us with the political practice that this requires, not only as a confrontation with the current economic model (neoliberalism), but also with the possibilities of creating worlds in common. Between the dissolution of the forms known by the practice of non-belonging and the return to the universal models of representation, the aim is to make the writing of this dissertation an essay that does not stabilize or evoke a conclusion. Finally, and not in a linear way, this dissertation exists as a personal unrest and, as an essay of contemporary research experience and modes of subjectivity inscribed in the practice of non-belonging.
