Abstract:	This dissertation aims to conduct a study on the Student Assistance Policy of the Federal Institute of Brasilia - Campus São Sebastião, to verify the extent to which this policy contributes to the permanence of black students of the subsequent technical course in School Secretary and Subsequent Technical in Secretariat. Specifically, students who requested student support from 2015 to 2018, when the policy was reformulated and the multidisciplinary team was formed. To analyze the consolidation of the IFB Student Assistance Policy at the Federal Institute of Brasilia, we sought to understand how this policy contributes to the permanence of black female students according to themselves, and what are the main challenges pointed to their implementation in the perspective of the institution; whether racial, gender and economic factors were considered as part of the evaluation. The courses appear intertwined in the selection of participants as well as in the IFB policy. To this end, the position of black women in society, and how much rights have been denied to them throughout the historical context. A contribution from black feminists was used to approach the intersectional perspective as a method (AKOTIRENE, 2018; CRENSHAW, 2002; DAVIS, 2016). The methodological path included bibliographic review and document analysis of the IFB-Campus São Sebastião about the female students records at the Student Assistance and Social Inclusion Coordination of the Campus. Interviews and questionnaires were conducted for the students and the multidisciplinary team to seek to understand the perception of the applicants and the team regarding the policy. As a result it was possible to conclude how much student assistance contributed and was essential for the formation of the students in the subsequent technical courses of the Federal Institute of Brasilia Campus São Sebastião, mostly black women aged between 18 and 50 years, with small children and heads of household. We can consider the Student Assistance Policy as a very important mechanism to enable the right to education and professionalization of black women.
