| Abstract: | This research aims to identify and discuss the relationship bet.ween the quality of life of managers and the factors leading to the development of Burnout Syndrome related to the work context in the socio-educational system of the Distrito Federal, Brazil. Researches show that overload, emotional exhaustion, poor working conditions and lack of professional fulfillment affect workers' quality of life. Based on this understanding, this dissertation is composed of three articles. In them, descriptive statistical analysis was used from factor analysis; confirmatory factor analysis; hypothesis tests (Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis) and multiple regression test. Of the participants, 103 accessed the survey. Of these, 48 completed all three questionnaires (on the likert scale) that evaluated the sociodemographic profile related to the hierarchical position of the managers; emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment correlated with burnout level; physical and mental health related to quality of life; and levels of demand, control and support linked to the job context. The first one aimed to identifying the managers profile of the socio-educational system of the Distrito Federal, Brazil, to verify and describe the frequency of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment and to identifying the occurrence of the syndrome in the management team. In addition, by applying the Maslach Burnout Inventory Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) questionnaire, the frequency was described and the levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment were correlated from the mental health perspective. Of the 48 participants, 29% had a burnout syndrome, highlighting the high level of emotional exhaustion. The second article aimed to identify the health components and their impacts on the quality of life of the socio-educational management team, pointing out the domains of the physical and mental health subscales. Through the Medical Outcomes Study SF-36 Health Survey, the frequency of these domains was identified and it was verified whether the scales that showed major limitations to health were correlated with those that showed burnout syndrome or degrees of emotional exhaustion and/or high depersonalization and/or low personal achievement of managers. From this, it was possible to portray the quality of life from the point of view of the managers of socio-education of the Distrito Federal, Brazil. In the same direction of the first ones, observing their specificity, the third article sought to identify the job context of the Distrito Federal, Brazil, socio-educational management, based on the institutional components demand, control and support through the application of the Job Content Questionnaire. This one evaluated the correlation of its components in professional relationships, their implications for professional achievement and the quality of life of managers. In the end, in the categories raised, it was found that the greater the control of the institution, the lower the mental health level of managers. It was emphasized, then, a directly proportional relationship about the statement that 'the healthier the worker, the greater his job satisfaction'. Based on these articles, the results suggest the urgency of planning a public health care policy for workers who manage the Brazilian socio-educational system, especially in this research, from the Distrito Federal, Brazil. |
