Abstract: Mapping the surface cover is essential for studies of the physical environment and understanding of the Earth's external physiography. The study of regolith is important because of its environmental and economic predicates. Weathering is one of the processes involved in landscape formation, the complete weather profile is divided from bottom to top in rochamãe, saprolite, mottle, lateritic crust and soil. The position of the profile in space and its relationship to geological, geomorphological and climatic factors defines which of these horizons will be present. That is, whether it will be complete or truncated. Weathering is called lateritic when there is formation of lateritic crusts in regional character, as is the case of the Brazilian central plateau, which exposes a large textural and mineralogical variation of lateritic formations. This work aimed to predictively map the lateritic crusts and their dismantling products through spatial analysis involving multi and hyperspectral processing of OLI and Hyperion sensors, respectively, combined with SRTM altimetric data. The accuracy of digital mapping was determined by field work, x-ray diffraction, total rock geochemistry, mathematical models and extraction of spectroradiometric signatures that allowed predicting a good potential of these sensors in the discrimination of this type of target. % to 44% accuracy and spectral correlations between digitally predicted points and field truth above 0.7. The regolith map enables greater refinement of existing cartographies and can be a great ally in the definition of projects that involve the exploration of mineral, energy, water and insulation materials for civil construction.
