| Abstract: | This work comprises the study of stability of truss equilibrium. For this purpose, it was required the use of non-linear analysis methods, which are useful tools to evaluate the capacity of residual load of damaged structures and for evaluations at failure. The standard formulation of the total Lagrangeana description was used to describe the movement equations for a bar element capable to portray the no-lineal relationships between solicitations and displacements. For analyze of the influence of local failure in the global behavior of the structure, it was considered, in a first case, the presence of inelastic deformations and was developed a one dimensional model of plasticity. Other case of local failure considered was the buckling of the element. In this last one, iterative incremental analysis was used to simulate the buckling of the element through the damage model, introducing, different from the empiric models used to the moment, an algorithmic modulus of elasticity. Because of this method, associated to the method of Newton-Raphson, it was possible to obtain the quadratic convergence for the analysis. The discretization of incremental balancing equation, through the Finite Element Method, leads to nonlinear algebraic equations system. To solve this system is used in this work a method that includes test functions to detect and classify the critical points. This actions enable the progress of the analysis. It was developed a computational program in Fortran language for elastic analysis, plastic analysis and other analysis, which consider the element buckling. It is presented in the final part of this work some applications solved using the developed computational program including comments about the performance and efficiency of the employed criteria. |
