| Abstract: | This work approaches, in a scientific way, the experimental study of variability, and the factors of dispersion on mortar rendering tensile bond strength. focusing on the evaluation of this property development in a construction site, and proceeding additional laboratorial analysis. The study was conducted in an exploratory way, intending to find a bond behavior tendency. To develop this research it was necessary the monitoring and accompanying of the internai renderings services “in situ”, executing some fresh mortar analysis (airentrained content, and cone penetration) and bond strength tests on the ages of 14 and 28 days. In a complementary project, it was accomplished a laboratorial study of adherence in structural concrete blocks, intending to analyze the test method influence, on bond strength values variation. The control factors observed in the construction site were: mixture time, initial consistency, official mason, waiting time for lathering, rendering age, substrate type, basis preparation and the type o f mortar used. The independent variables analyzed were: the tensile bond strength, specimen rupture configuration and the adherence variability. By means of the results, it was observed that the specimen geometrical form, rendering thickness and the official mason do influence, significantly, on the adherence values. The rendering age was not a predominant factor on the results variation. It exists a high levei variability inherent to the adherence property, denoting that the procedure of the results analysis needs to be reviewed, since the parameter utilized (simple arithmetic average) does not suit with the property high levei variation. It is suggested the adoption of the median as the adherence characteristic parameter. The statistical distribution type that fitted better to the majority of tested specimens was the normal distribution. |
